Howard Marks Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award, Featured in Wharton Magazine As previously reported in a recent Pi Kappa Alpha, Beta Pi newsletter, Howard S. Marks, Beta Pi ’64, was to receive the Wharton Alumni Club of New York (WACNY) Joseph Wharton Award for Lifetime Achievement. WACNY presents this award “for alumni who have had a tremendous positive and sustained impact on business and society over the course of their careers.”

At the annual Joseph Wharton Awards Dinner, held October 8, 2015, Howard Marks received this prestigious award. The Winter 2015 issue of Wharton magazine, published by WACNY, was devoted to covering this affair and contained interviews with all its’ award winners.

The interview with Howard spanned three pages. It is powerful reading for all who are embarking on a career in finance as well as providing life lessons from a person who personifies extraordinary success in his own life. Howard professes his adherence to a policy of “alternative investment” for any person who “dares to be great” by “willing to be different…and wrong.”

Take the time to read the entire interview, which can be found at www.readwny.com. It may influence you to change your own approach to your career and/or life.
