Peter D'Amore (Florida, Alpha Eta ’10) Receives Scott Mackler, MD, PhD, Medical School Memorial Scholarship

Representatives from the Joseph Alexander Foundation were on hand at the Philadelphia Leadership Summit banquet to present Brother Peter D’Amore (Florida, Alpha Eta ’10) with the first annual Scott Mackler, MD, PhD, Medical School Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was endowed in 2015 with a gift of $100,000 from the Joseph Alexander Foundation in memory of Brother Scott A. Mackler (Pennsylvania, Beta Pi ’77). The Scott Mackler, MD, PhD, Medical School Memorial Scholarship will be awarded each year to a student member of PIKE that is entering medical school or currently enrolled in an U.S. accredited medical school.

Brother Peter D’Amore is a former Alpha Eta chapter president. He is completing his fourth year of medical school at Florida International University. Peter plans to graduate in April of 2017 and is in the process of interviewing for an orthopedic surgery residency position.

The deadline to apply for the 2017 Scott Mackler, MD, PhD, Medical School Memorial Scholarship is April 30, 2017.
