BETA PI RECORDS PRESERVED

On May 13, 2025, the chapter house at 3916 Spruce Street had all records, ritual items, memorabilia, etc., belonging to Beta Pi, removed. The total removal was accomplished by Kaden Stenger, Beta Pi ’19, who served as one of the two student representatives, chosen from all PiKA chapters, to the Pi Kappa Alpha Inter/National (Memphis) Supreme Council, and Basil Jackson, Beta Pi ’13, who served on the Beta Pi Advisory Board. The advisory board is now obsolete since Beta Pi undergraduates returned the Beta Pi Charter to PiKA headquarters in Memphis.

Kaden and Bas rented a van, purchased the necessary packing materials to box the entire contents of the ritual room that included documents, histories, composites, PiKA books, scrapbooks, trophies, etc., and transported all these materials to a warehouse in New Jersey owned by Jeff Kaufman, Beta Pi ’80. All these items are now safe and secure, and they will be available if and when Beta Pi is able to recolonize on Penn’s campus.

The costs of this expedition were partly financed by Beta Pi brothers Mitch Karig ’76 and Morty Cohen ’65. The balance of the expenses was paid by the Beta Pi Alumni Association. What cannot be paid for in terms of dollars were the tremendous efforts and devotion to Beta Pi by Kaden and Bas, and the generosity of Jeff Kaufman.
