The annual Founders Day Friday night dinner on April 4, 2025, at the White Dog Café on Penn’s campus, was well attended this year. However, due to the size of the group, the White Dog staff was unable to accommodate our group in just one room. The group had to be split and we hope the White Dog staff was not perturbed when brothers kept going from one room to the other to mingle.
Many brothers arrive on Friday. After checking in and unpacking at their hotels, usually the Inn at Penn and the Sheraton University City, they look forward to what has become a traditional Friday night dinner at the White Dog. This year, a larger than usual number of brothers attended.
The gourmet White Dog cuisine was delicious. No complaints from any of the brothers as the entire menu and specials were available. Everyone enjoyed their conversations relating to family events, politics, and retirement (or possible retirement). Although mentioned, the problems with Beta Pi chapter at Penn were essentially postponed until the Saturday alumni meeting, where it would be discussed in detail.
In attendance at the Friday night dinner were:
Fred Bailey ’70 Mark Berlyn ’77 Joel Catania ‘71
Morty Cohen ’65 Dan Darkes ’68 Bill Kenney ‘69
Stephen Leventhal ’67 Harvey Mackler ’72 Rich Myers ‘69
Mark Perna ’68 Stephen Robinson ’74 Bill Scott ‘76
Rich Sussman ’69 Bruce Wolfson ’71 Paul Zaentz ‘69
Our apologies to anyone else who attended but has not been mentioned.
